As Principal of PS 175, it is with great pride that parents, teachers, staff, community partners, and I have worked together to better serve our students. PS 175 has seen positive achievements and new initiatives the past five years leading to improved academics and a positive school environment. These include:
STEM+A and the DOE SEPjr. Curriculum to teach software engineering, robotics, coding, and more to provide equitable access to technology and science for the future;
Academics focused on project-based learning, higher-order questioning, student discourse, and rigorous instruction;
Strategic partnerships and initiatives including NYC Teaching Academy, NYPD 32nd Precinct, New York Cares, Columbia Athletics, Inside Broadway, Morgan Library, full-time music and dance programs, and more to support our students and families; and
Social emotional and wellness supports to provide a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment.
With your continued support, I look forward to even more exciting improvements, family involvement, and student opportunities during the upcoming school year. Sincerely, Ms. Kavita Jagarnath Principal
